Balanced Network update from Surrey County Council:
On 15th February the A25 through Redhill opened to two way traffic. Please take care when travelling in Redhill by vehicle, cycle or on foot.
This newsletter provides an update on the town centre road works, which will be substantially complete at the end of March 2015. Due to dovetailing the programme with local developments some works will be completed at a later date to fit in with their programmes.
Block paving works on Station Road and surrounding Station Roundabout continues. The contractor will now progress onto the area surrounding the Bus and Train stations. Pedestrian access through these areas will be maintained wherever possible, however some pedestrian diversions are inevitable. The final road surface on the Station roundabout will be laid in April, once all the adjacent kerb stones have been laid.
Block paving will also be commencing in the area at the south of the High Street between The Tower Pub and Frankie and Benny’s.
In the coming weeks bus operators will be assessing the operation of the two way system with a view to rescheduling services on the new route as appropriate. Infrastructure has been installed on the new route in preparation for an update to the services.
The safety bollards will be removed from the two way system in about mid-March, once road users have become familiar with the new road layout. Once these bollards have been removed, right turns will be possible, including from the Belfry car park exit.
