PCSO-and-NSO-Surrey-PoliceA man in his 20s who stabbed his victim during an incident in Redhill has pleaded guilty to assault.

An ambulance was called to the scene and the man was taken to St Georges Hospital in Tooting for treatment. He has since made a full recovery.

Investigating Officer Detective Constable Jason Kelly, said: “The victim in this case was extremely brave throughout the investigation and for this he must be praised. The incident was extremely traumatic for him and I hope the guilty plea goes some way to bring him closure from his ordeal.

“The offender showed complete disregard for others, not only did he stab his victim twice but he committed the offence in a public place, however, I welcome the guilty plea as it means the victim will not have to endure a trial.”

Dominic Appau-Kwateng, 21, of Parritt Road in Redhill pleaded guilty to assault (GBH) at Guildford Crown Court on Thursday, 5 March. He has been remanded in custody to appear at the same court for sentencing on Friday, 24 April.
