About me:

I am a proud resident of Redhill and ever since being elected to the Council, alongside councillors Natalie Bramhall and David Pay, I have pressed for Redhill to be given the attention it deserves as the Borough’s largest town. These long term plans are now being implemented.

I have worked locally for over 15 years, first for Watson Wyatt, and now for Just Retirement. Since being elected, my main focus in Redhill has been to encourage redevelopment in the town centre, and investment in the Harlequin and Donyngs. I have also pressed for many years for Memorial Park to be improved and better youth facilities in Redhill, both of which are now being provided.

At the Town Hall I have spent time getting to grips with various issues—in particular recycling, where I led the introduction of the recycling service we now have; finding ways for the Council to achieve better value for money; and sitting on the Planning Committee and the Executive.

Beyond the Council, I enjoy keeping fit, reading, and learning to play better golf. I also serves as a trustee of a local charity and a board member of a local affordable housing provider.

Some comments from local residents whom Julian has helped:

“Julian is an admirable example of a local councillor who brings experience, knowledge and a serious amount of his time to his chosen task of helping the local community.”Mr M, Carlton Road
“The successful rejection of a phone mast in 2012, involved the much needed, and significant help of Councillor Julian Ellacott. Through his empathy towards us, Redhill residents, he provided all the advice and attention he could have possibly supplied in preventing a mast from being built so close to our homes. “Julian listened to us and responded to our queries promptly, making us realise the importance of having a councillor who really does care.”Miss B, Colesmead Road
“Many, many thanks for all your help. Keep up the good work.”Mrs Julie Page, Redhill

I believe in accountability and transparency:
